Guilty Customs participated in the 2nd Annual Real Ride hosted by Shannon Burke of Real Radio 104.1 this weekend with about 800 of our close friends all to benefit Camp Boggy Creek. We had a great time showing off Errant with her foot clutch and hand shift and everyone seemed to enjoy our new pilot’s helmet and paint job. Meeting old friends and making new one is a great way to spend the day. And boy was it a great riding weather day too! We ate some great food, had some awesome riding, and saw some great bikes and scenery. Shannon and his crew put on a great police escorted ride which was well organized, with plenty of food and drink and great music. If your not familiar with this ride, you should put it on your “To-Do” list for next year as it benefits Camp Boggy Creek which provides services for Special Needs Children. Who says’ you can’t have the best of two worlds!! When true vision meets paradigm, paradigm always blinks first. We’re always looking for something unique here at Guilty. So, it shouldn’t come as a suprise that we had to have something on our knoggen that was different and unique. Granted we ride some very unique choppers, but nothing to protect the old gray matter (brain, not hair). We contacted a young up-and-coming painter, named Jose Sapere to do something different for us. And boy did he! There is always something to prick the interest of the motorcycle community. We’ve seen urns to carry your loved one around on your bike after they have departed; also chairs made to look like motorcycles, and even wine that’s targeted to the biking community (which i’ve heard is very good). We’ve got the newest (at least for me) venture to capture the bikers dollar, the Motorcycle Funeral. A company in Great Britain, The Motorcycle Funeral Service is offering various packages for those departed one to be wisked off to the graveyard by their loved ones. You have a choice of mounts to choose from, “Proper British Mounts” (which i’m not sure what that means), cafe racers, Hayabusa’s to regular H-D. Is this a European thing or am i missin’ something here? And from what i’ve read, it’s something people really enjoy as there is an area for comments from clients (‘m assuming the living ones). Personally, throw me in the toaster, scoop me up, and spread me to the 4 corners…..just don’t parade me around town just for your ease of mind. Enough said.

I’m not sure i would have had the “stones” to have strapped my legs around this puppy! Anyway, we found this article about the first motorcycle which was a steam powered oddity built by Sylvester Roper in 1869. It was a steam powered bicycle or motorcycle.

They’re definitely crankin’ the enthusiasm up this year for Sturgis with the Black List Tour. Glad to see these builders combining efforts for such an event. We pretty much have to do things in a “Group” in order to survive the industries ebbs and flows. Your seeing more and more “tag teaming” at events such as the upcoming Horse Smokeout in Salisbury (June 22-23) as well as at Sturgis with the Black List Tour, which is a sign-of-the-times. The Black List Tour is a hard-core fusion of skateboarding, Moto X, hot rods, custom bikes, music and art, designed to redefine and revolutionize rally entertainment, and provide the ultimate platform for cross generational expression. “Our goal for the tour is to showcase the custom lifestyle on a whole new level. We all like bikes, cars, moto-cross, skateboarding, snowboarding and a good mix of music from punk to rock-a-billy, to hard-core rock, you name it. Well, it had to happen eventually. People were so blown away with the spring coil shocks that we offer, that we had to follow-up with something just as cool. Which this is….it’s the new Chopper Shox Air Shock. alt=”cs air shox#1only”>” These shocks are 4″ eye to eye with aluminum bodies and have the same mounting dimensions as the coil overs and (if you already have ChopperShox’s), they can be interchanged on your existing mounts. The rubber cushion is 1″ tall and is made from industrial rubber (Elastomeric). The shrader valve can be used to fill with air if desired but is not needed. Pretty cool huh? These are available as dual or single shocks and already they are showing up on some pretty hot show bikes around the country. Also, our friend Paco, is making some kickin’ billet seat pans for these shocks.

Goodness, the places we dig up in search of unique items so you’ll be entertained and educated! So, your girl won’t ride with you until she has the perfect helmet? And plus, most helmets she’s seen are so unfashionable. Well, we have the answer right here. Yep, it’s the fashion accessory we’ve all been waiting for…helmets that will seperate you from the crowd….literally.
You have helmets available in fur, so your rides in the wilderness won’t be so boring… We’re sure you asking also about those camo or denim helmets as well. These helmets are available from a company out of the UK called Nexx. I’ve seen big furry helmets on some burly guys (and gal’s) riding H-D’s at Bike Week or Sturgis, but they usually have big horns attached. I’ve always championed the integration of form and fashion…but this….Hmm … now all ya need are matching jackets.
