Jason GrayDesigner/Painter
From Jason Grays first ride at age 5 on the back of
Dads bright green Kawasaki 500, he knew he was a bike guy.
Though being pressed into
service after school and every summer at the family body shop
seemed unfair at the time, it did help to create one of the few
33 year old painters who can legitimately say he has nearly 30
years of real job experience working on cars, trucks and bikes!
But Jason is one of those people who always needs to be challenged
or he feels like hes cheating. Though his painting skills
are about as solid as you will find, the countless years of repairing
OEM vehicles started to feel like Chinese water torture.
By the age of 27, he was completely burnt out on the body shop
grind and actually started gathering Microsoft certifications
in preparation for a new life! One that was free of the paint
fumes, Bondo dust, and perennially busted knuckles that were all
hed ever known.
Well, even though his old school work ethic served him well enough
in the computer world to make him a pretty good tech for Dell,
he always knew it couldnt last... His hands were just too
clean! Before long he was painting again, but this time for himself,
and no more collision work!
He
began custom painting and restoring everything he could get his hands on, classic
cars, mini-trucks, hot-rods, low-riders, and above all, his first love... Motorcycles.
Soon, his reputation among the local chopper builders grew to the point that
he was able to cut out everything but bikes.
Before long Jason Gray Customs, Inc had built up an impressive
list of clients including Raging Iron Choppers, Pitbull Motorcycle
Co, Eddie Trottas Thunder Cycle Design, Coast 2 Coast Choppers,
All American Choppers Co, Custom Sportbike Concepts, Lake County
Choppers, and a few of the local Harley Dealers.
Of course, never being satisfied with his accomplishments meant he was soon
building bikes of his own. But limited resources meant limited bikes. That all
changed in early 2006 when he met CJ Hanlon and together they formed a partnership
they call GUILTY CUSTOMS. Now having a real businessman on board allows Jason
to focus on what he loves most- designing and painting motorcycles that are
as functional as they are beautiful!
Check out the Guilty photo gallery to see some of Jason's
work here. We're working on a new huge paint gallery of Jason's work.
Come back soon to take a look.
