The Guilty Process

Step 1-Interview/Introduction

At Guilty we're only interested in one thing, your satisfaction and comfort on your new dream bike. But before we can start all that, we need to find out some things about your riding habits and desires. So, we'll dig into your preferred design preferences and riding style to design the ride of your dreams.

Are you bar hoppin' or riding cross country? Street racing or EasyRider type?

We'll need to know what preferences you have. It doesn't' stop there either. Let's dig a bit further into the gray matter between your ears….what music do you listen to? How about passions or hobbies? Preferred colors? You a beer and chips guy or steak and wine gal? All-American Red/white/blue or counter culture, or both? Leather and lace or jeans and chaps? We'll cover a wide range of questions just to get to the point we know what really meets your needs, not ours.

Of course we'll talk "bucks" also so that we're all on the same page when we start building your dream bike.

To get things rolling, we'll require a small non-refundable deposit that is applied to your custom motorcycle in order to get started…..you know what they say…."talk is cheap --style cost a bit more" or even better…"money talks and bull**** walks". These fee's cover conceptual design, and delivery of comprehensive build sheet.

Step 2-Conceptual Design/Interview

Now this is where the fun really begins!

At this point we'll start spec'ing out a detailed conceptual design drawing of your motorcycle. The frame/model you chose, engine components, drivetrain and wheel/tire combinations that come with each model we make.

We'll make note of specific design elements that make this bike uniquely yours! We'll start discussing the paint and finishes your looking for also at this point. Of course modifications and adjustments can be made at this time.

You'll be expected to sign off on this part of the phase once the changes/modifications are made, so come with your pin. We'll put all this information on paper and provide a conceptual drawing that you can share with your friends and family.

Timeframe is about 7-10 days for this.

Step 3-Build Sheet

Wow, it's going fast now!

Once you've signed off on the conceptual design portion, we'll provide you with a detailed build sheet including components to fabricated and parts to be ordered complete with pricing. You'll get a regular scheduled notification on where we are with your build via email with photo's. We will have also worked with you on a realistic delivery schedule….cause we know you can't wait for some Guilt!

Now, we're ready to start getting down to business. We'll collect the first payment from you for the initial order of parts and fabrication labor, components will be ordered, fabrication will start and we'll begin the build phase.

Now if you have changes when we reach this point, you'll need to put in a change order which may incur additional expenses and possible schedule delays.

Timeframe is 3-7 days to provide a Build Sheet spec sheet.

Step 4-Fabrication

Necessary parts will begin to be fabricated now. We'll keep you updated by photographing each stage/milestone and send them to you via email for record keeping and sharing with friends. As your ordered parts start arriving, they will be tagged, inventoried.

All through this process, you'll be able to know exactly how your bike is progressing….the suspense is killin' ya isn't it?

Timeframe for this portion is 5-8 weeks for fabrication, ordering and receipt of parts.

Step 5-Mockup and Customer Fitting

You've heard of this phase we're sure….this is where we can start doing the preliminary assembly of your custom motorcycle.

You'll watch the transformation from the bare bones frame to the full pre-assembled bike. This will be where we'll find out how everything fits, looks and works together. You'll be updated at each exciting phase. Of course once the initial assembly phase is completed, we'll need you back at the shop to do a fitting.

Now, you'll start seeing your dreams become actual reality. You'll sit on it and see how it fits and feels. We'll make any necessary adjustments such as controls, seat style and placement etc….You getting excited yet?!! We'll also have to discuss your paint and finish as well as seat/material combinations in order to finalize your design.

This is where we'll be putting our hand out for another payment as well…we'll collect the second payment at this time during mockup and after that, once mockup is finished parts will start to be painted, any plating or finishing we can't do, we'll send out.

Timeframe for this is 4-6 weeks total.

Step 6-Final Assembly

Now everything has been painted, plated or finished and we're ready to do a final assembly. Just like all the other phases, we'll document it with photo's to share with you (just like a proud daddy or mommy) so you can share with everyone.

Attention to detail will be paramount for us as we're looking for correct torque spec's and wiring schematics, and loctite will be flowing freely to ensure your safe ride.

Guilty has developed a "pre-flight" checklist for completing this phase for firing your engine and doing any last minute tuning.

Timeframe for all this is 3-6 weeks.

Step 7-Delivery

Congratulations!! The day has come.

We'll make any and all necessary adjustments for ride and handling and we'll go over all spec's of your new custom motorcycle….things like controls, handling, fittings and requirements relating to your components.

We'll hand over a complete binder that has all necessary parts and component manufactures warranties as well as our Guilty Guarantee. Of course we're here to service your motorcycle at the required times.

You'll need to tell us how you want delivery….do you want us to deliver it? Or do you want to ride it home? Some additional fees will be required if delivered). Final payment is required upon delivery or pickup.
